Dodoma Valley Sand Boas

True Dodomas are very rare in the U.S. They are a locality variant of the Kenyan Sand boa from the Dodoma region of Tanzania. Very few of these animals have ever been collected and only a handful have found their way to the exotic reptile hobby. We are very lucky to have stumbled across the founder stock for our specimens. Dodomas are smaller sand boas with brilliant coloration throughout their life. Their patterns are very clean and distinct and resemble isolated spherical islands rather than a thick, connected pattern. The lower sides are patternless or extremely reduced, the belly is clear and the color ranges from orange to yellow and is vibrant for their entire lives. Unpatterned heads also are a good distinguishing feature of this locality. Litters are much smaller than typical Kenyans, and average only 7-8 babies.
