The Originals

    In 1990, I had a dream of Black and Yellow.  The Jungle Carpet Python was fairly new to the herpetocultural community, but had been around long enough for consumers to know that not all Jungles were created equal.  The problem was that no one had any idea how to tell if they were going to get "screamers" or not and buying was a big gamble at the higher prices of that time.  I had my mind set that I wanted a pair of the best yellow Jungles I could find, so that is what I set out to do.  I quickly discovered this task to be more daunting than I had anticipated and also learned that "screamer" was a very relative term.  After several disappointing purchases of single animals, I decided I was getting no where.  I started buying entire clutches and keeping my favorite babies.  After a few years of raising up various bloodlines I wound up with my pair of exceptional breeders.  The only problem was that because of the method I used to get my exceptional pair of Jungles, I wound up with a few exceptional pairs that I could not part with.  By mixing these bloodlines around with each other and with other exceptional Jungles from outside the collection, we feel  we have made a significant contribution to the refinement of quality Jungle Carpet Pythons.  These are the originals that were held back from purchased clutches and select individual purchases of the early to mid 1990's.  They are no longer in breeding projects, but their best offspring will pave the way for even greater Jungles to come.
